Cognitive & Behavior Redirection Initiative
The Cognitive & Behavior Redirection Initiative (CBRI) is a community-based mental health and behavioral wellness program designed to support individuals in urban and underprivileged communities who are impacted by trauma, unmanaged anger, chronic stress, and emotional dysregulation. Rooted in culturally responsive practices, CBRI combines evidence-based cognitive behavioral strategies with community-centered education, creative expression, and restorative dialogue.
William C. Tutt

CBRI is founded (2026) in honor of William C. Tutt LCDP, CBT, whose curriculum, research, and training methodologies have been used by local and state law enforcement agencies, schools, coalitions, correctional systems, and community organizations. His work emphasized accountability, behavioral awareness, emotional intelligence, and redirection rather than punishment—principles that align deeply with The Liberation Center’s mission to educate, empower, and liberate minds.

"This manuscript broadens the understanding for professionals about the Hood Mentality & the Urban Identity Theory. The compiled research in this manuscript is the result of over 20 years of research and interviews with over 2300 gang members & ex-offenders in prison and free society. This manuscript will provide an outlook of a negative behavior cycle and what economical conditions in life cause negative behavior cycles while individuals are not aware of their own NBC."
